It took me a while to finally figure out how to unlock the fuel line clamps on my '06 Taurus, but it was really easy. To remove the rear clamp closer to the fuel tank, take a flathead screwdriver and at the same time press the bottom button and clamp the screwdriver on the top clamp. It may take a few tries, but it's doable. Don't get discouraged, this will take some effort. For the front, take a screwdriver and slide the latches up, on the bottom it should be open so you can see the latches locked to release. The filter works fine. Don't leave your car less than 1/4 full, or you'll end up paying for more than one filter at a given time.
