🔧 Enhance Engine Performance with Purolator F65455 Fuel Filter Review

The Purolator has been getting a lot of bad press lately. Not sure why. I got this from the warehouse, it fit, it had the right parts. The old one was more difficult to remove but I have no complaints about this product. The machine is still running and if the Purolator has not forgotten to insert the filter material, it is doing its job.

As mentioned in another review, the clamps that come with the filter do not fit the quick connectors on the fuel line. One of the clips broke on removal and I had to go to NAPA and spend $15 on the correct clips. Now I have a lifetime supply. Save time and money and buy another filter.

The filter itself is fine. Suitable for both inlet and outlet fuel lines. However, the plastic clips that came with the filter do not fit my 2004 Ford Taurus. You must use old clips for installation. The workaround is to put an extra plastic fastener over the old clips for extra grip. never mind

This was the right filter for my truck: 1993 Ford Ranger 4.0L V6 (VIN X). I'm pretty sure it's impossible to extract the old ones without destroying them.

My 1992 Ford Ranger Truck wasn't working properly. It fluctuates when accelerating and idling. I have come to the conclusion that the fuel filter in the truck has never been changed. Since the truck has an injector (2.3 litres), I was hesitant to fit a filter due to possible excessive fuel emissions. I installed it and my machine is working fine now. Good value for money.

It took me a while to finally figure out how to unlock the fuel line clamps on my '06 Taurus, but it was really easy. To remove the rear clamp closer to the fuel tank, take a flathead screwdriver and at the same time press the bottom button and clamp the screwdriver on the top clamp. It may take a few tries, but it's doable. Don't get discouraged, this will take some effort. For the front, take a screwdriver and slide the latches up, on the bottom it should be open so you can see the latches…
