I replaced an older Cat 6 cable that had a broken connector tab with this Cat 8 cable. My download speeds in Steam changed from between 9-13 MB/S to 43-53 MB/s. Speedtest by Ookla and other speed tests were netting me about 465 Mbps download from Tampa to Chicago. Needless to say, this was a dramatic change in the time needed to download files.The motherboard this is connected to is a bit older at this point (3-3 1/2 years old), which had 1 Gigabit LAN. I imagine that if you have a newer board with 2+ Gigabit LAN you would see a further increase in speeds. That's all assuming your ISP has the speed to support this.
