Review on Powerbuilt (940756) 4500 PSI Heavy Duty Lever Style Grease Gun: Unleash Maximum Power for Extreme Greasing Tasks by Black Holstead

This is pure garbage! First I bought 6 pieces. The first one I tried to use I spent trying to get it to work. This works when taking lube from a bucket, but not when trying to load a lube cartridge. The instructions indicate that the gun will work correctly, but it doesn't. And yes, I know which way the conical piston needs to be pointing. The problem is that the plastic washer between the spring and the rubber plunger is too wide and will stretch the rubber plunger enough to fit snugly in the grease gun tube, but once you put the cartridge in place the plunger won't fit in there. This is clearly a design flaw and it is obvious that the manufacturer never tested these guns! As a workaround, I just removed the plastic plate and left the rubber plunger directly on the spring. This worked great for the first 6 guns I got and now every single one of them works flawlessly. I then bought 3 more guns and the first one I tried to use took over 2 hours to get it working! Unlucky this one had a curved spring head and no matter what I tried the piston didn't sit squarely on the curved head of the spring so the grease would come out without the plastic washer. and with a plastic washer, of course, it will not fit in the cartridge. I tried cutting the plastic plate as well, but the spring diameter is so large that any cutting would be in vain because the spring would protrude beyond the plate and deform the rubber plunger again. I will not waste any more time on the other 2 guns, I will send all 3 back and look for another brand. This gun is a joke! I've called Powerbuilt tech support in the past when I had the initial problem about a month ago. There is only 1 person servicing these weapons. It took several weeks, many messages and finally an angry chat with their manager to finally contact this support team. When I finally spoke to him he said I couldn't expect much from these guns, they were cheap quality and if they worked for me the way I modified them then I should leave them as is. Wow! What great tech support. The second time I had a new problem I wouldn't even call them. Even their own tech support admits that this is an inferior product and we shouldn't have any expectations.
