This is an updated review 10 months after my purchase and installation. The entry was a 1985 Kawasaki KLR600 with a SuperTrapp EAR (Environmental Acoustic Reduction) muffler. The bike is a fairly quiet 4-stroke, two-stroke sport bike. I repack every year and usually find a fairly full can of packing materials when I do. Initial ceramic noise reduction was acceptable. The noise level started to increase noticeably at about 750 miles and became completely unreasonable by 1500 miles. When repacking, all the ceramic packaging deteriorated and the glass burst; the glass was empty. While it's pretty much the same with fiber reinforced mufflers, I expect a much longer life from my packing material for the basic cross country riding I do. I repackaged with fiberglass.
