Review on ๐Ÿšœ DB Electrical Tractor Alternator Conversion Kit for Ford 8N with Side Mount Distributor - 1947-1952 Models by Chase Arellano

and the resistance are all there and in great shape and it looks like it's going to be a quick conversion.

I literally ONLY took it out of the box on arrival. The shape and looks that it's going to be a fast morph generator, but that's another story. I knew before I bought it that it was a cheap alternator, but still. This generator beeps, squeaks and makes a ticking noise like a baseball card in a bicycle rim when rotated by hand. In my experience, this is an almost certain sign of premature failure. Also less of a major mechanical issue than a cosmetic issue, the fan itself is quite warped. Since it was packaged quite well, I can only assume that it was shipped directly from the factory. Since I don't have time to return it and wait for another (crop can't wait for the bad parts), I have to take a chance and damn hope it does the job. If it still doesn't work, I'll send it back immediately. In any case, I will buy a new, higher-quality generator as a backup in the near future, as it will definitely not last long. UPDATE: I spoke too soon. I had to drill each hole on the screw on the brackets to the correct size. Her bolts didn't even fit in HER holes. The wiring harness was terrible. I ended up having to take everything apart, put new ends on the stack and reconfigure the layout to actually make it work. hold down. The wiring for me and I'm really good at wiring so I rewired it myself was TERRIBLE. wrong ends, wrong layout and absolutely the WORST schematic I've ever seen personally. I got better at drawing diagrams when I was 7 years old. It's good that I'm good at wiring because if I didn't know how it would be a real nightmare. To be honest, all in all, this product is not worth the money. Spend a few extra bucks on a whole kit from another manufacturer, or buy a GM battery, some spools of wire and do some clamps on Saturday. I'm curious to see how long this cheap alternator will last with me. Otherwise a decent product for little money. And I'm ONLY saying that because my dad always told me "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR". PER".
