I have just completed the installation of this product to replace the handle that broke on my storm door. Seems to be a great replacement, but there were a few issues I wanted to let others know about when installing. 1) The screw holes in the parts of the handle are covered with paint which can make it very difficult to insert the screws without removing them. . I recommend trying to clean the holes before attempting this. I did this by simply turning the screws manually before beginning the installation. Using a drill may strip the screws, so do it by hand. This will make it easier to attach the screws when trying to attach the handle. 2) The instructions state that you must break the metal bar to get the correct length based on the width of your door. The guide is very clear on how to do it. I followed the instructions and using pliers broke the spindle to the right size. However when I tried to install the handle I found that it wouldn't work because the spindle was too long. I measured and tried again. Still too long. Luckily I kept my old parts and compared the previous spindle. The old one was about 3/4 inch shorter. I used my old spindle and installed a new handle. That works great. So I'm not sure if the instructions are wrong, but the length I was recommended for the spindle was too big.
