Our 2 plugs are almost new, not time or screwdriver tested but we like the way they work. The caps can be locked with a key after loosening and then removed for refilling. Keys are not needed after loosening and closing the lid. The locking and unlocking process is positive, the key can be inserted and pulled out with little resistance, the lock cylinder rotates easily. Every point is different than many other baseball caps sold by Revain. In 7 years we have replaced too many fasteners that were difficult to open, wouldn't close or otherwise failed. Sorry if this looks like an advertisement but I'm sorry we bought these other caps that didn't work.
