Review on Omix Ada 18280 19 Shackle by Dino Burks

They are so poorly made that the bushings don't even fit properly in the bracket. There is a large gap between the sleeve and the ear in the pastern. The bushing has to be pressed into the eye of the shackle with a hydraulic press, but with this you can lower the bushing by hand and it will fall out. Omix-Ada's solution was to staple the sleeve onto the shackle! Serious! Your leaf spring is effectively pinned to your vehicle! I'm a welder/fitter and I can say quality control is EVERYWHERE! This is actually dangerous as the weak welds will break once torque is applied to the yoke and the bushing will wobble in the yoke causing the leaf spring to rub against the bracket and eventually break it. The tolerances on the metal shackle are so terrible that when you look at it in the light you can see a .125 inch gap between the bushing and the lug. Other reviews mention a broken bushing in the shackle and I can certainly see this to be true. This is an awful product. Shame on you, Omix-Ada. If this product breaks and causes an accident (and it will), you want to sue Omix-Ada and you deserve it.
