Accelerometer accuracy is terrible. This is probably true of any IMU, but it's something to know before you buy. It doesn't have much support if you really want to mess around with the IMU. They basically have to learn C++ or something and decode the manual for the actual component they're building into the HAT. It's a lot of fun to play with, but there are some frustrating aspects of using location data and you can end up down a giant rabbit hole. I don't think it's sampling fast enough, but it could be a Python issue. You might think that some forums fully deal with this, but it actually isn't, so be careful. The actual code used is from RTIMULib and can be found on Github, but it's not an actively maintained repository so you're unlikely to get many answers easily. Fun gadget, nevertheless I learned a lot about math and programming which was the ultimate goal. And all other components work fine and really cool. I like that the LCD screen can display text and images easily.
