I think they work. However, I'm an average golfer and it's not easy for me to tell the difference between brands and models. They seem to help shrink my piece a bit, but some days I just clip it no matter what I do. They feel softer than some balls I've used on the green and give me a little more control when hitting the ball. Generally they are of good value. I see no point in spending $4 on a ball when research has shown that the ball is not that important to the typical (dumb) golfer. I can usually get them on sale for less than a dollar.
