How I used this product

Awesome. I am preparing meals for back packing in lots of 10 due to oxygen absorbers being in 10-pak sealed bags. Thru trail and error (I took a No 10 can of Mountain House Gronola with Milk & Blueberries and measured out the can's 20 servings into 10 mylar bags, adding two health supplements (Lion's Mane and Chlorella). At first I was not getting the air fully out, so I decided to cut the bags in half and give them a second go round - this time my FoodSaver Vac Sealer drew out all the air and compressed the 10-meals perfectly! I also made some 2-serving Rasin Nut Bran (1.5 cups) and Carnation Instant Milk (1.5 cups milk) and made more breakfast meals. The bags I cut in half after sealing once were recycled for for items not needing air absorbers, like one packet of swiss miss and one packet of Carnation Breakfast Essentials (these are paper individual servings but together make a nice on the go no mess meal drink). The thing I love is buying a 20-serving can of mountain house for 1/2 price of 10-individual meals packets and then adding nutritional supplements in addition to the food and saving money. My next meal project involved another 10-mylar bags or Harmony House Back Packer dried foods and adding other dried foods to create yet more meals, using again the 10-packs of oxygen absorbers. The key to using the 100 mylar bags is to make 10 sets of bags and oxygen absorbers at a single sessions.I'll be buying some smaller bags about 1/2 size after writing this review.

Cons
  • The bags may develop tiny pinholes, which would render them useless for long-term storage
