Cut off the white wire and other installation tips.

Great product. Good picture quality. Relatively simple assembly for any individual handy tinkering effort on the mechanical and electrical parts of the vehicle. We managed to hide the transmitter in the back of the trunk of a small 2011 Lexus CT200H without spoiling the transmitted image, ie. There was no signal loss or interference. Installation tip #1: Cut the white wire. By default, the transmitted image is the actual image captured by the camera. Every North American vehicle I've ever driven with a factory-installed backup camera actually shows what's around the corner of the driver's car on the left side of the monitor, and what's around the corner of the driver's car on the left side of the monitor passenger's cars. right side of the monitor. What I just described is NOT the default image shown during installation. You need to cut the white cable on the camera's transmitter unit to make the "mirror function" go away. This is clearly explained in the instructions, but I'll try to explain it in simple terms for the benefit of all future installers. Mounting Tip #2: The long bracket holding the camera should be installed behind the license plate (see image) in such a way that ONLY the camera itself covers a tiny part of the license plate. Otherwise if you attach it to the top it will block the top 1 inch of your license plate for the entire length of your license plate. Installation tip #3. Be patient. Don't rush it. The more time you spend getting it right, the happier you will be with the result. We're sorry. I haven't tried it at night though, so I can't comment on the night vision quality.
