This is a smooth paper clay that will air dry. You can heat it in the oven to speed up drying, but you also risk cracking. Air drying is always best. True, the cracks can be filled with a large amount of clay and sanded with fine sandpaper. It's lightweight so you can make great Christmas decorations out of it, and it won't break the branch! Seal the clay in an airtight bag. If the wrap dries out, use only distilled water to restore it. Never use tap water, the minerals it contains will cause your clay to go moldy making it harmful and unusable. For best results, grind dry clay and slowly add distilled water. Blend until the desired consistency is reached. A more liquid consistency can be used as a "slip". It can also be used in an extruder for fun shapes and extra texture. Acrylic paint can be added to wet clay for a muted color. After drying you want to seal it. If you paint it with acrylic paint, you don't really need a sealer, the paint will do it for you. Sealants also protect paintwork and painted parts. Use acrylic spray paint, gloss or matte paint whichever you prefer.
