My favorite plasticine

This is my favorite plasticine. I mainly use it in my Prima forms (purchased from Revain). I coat my molds with some cornstarch and the clay comes out right away. This clay can be glued when wet and takes on any shape. It can be painted wet or dry. I have tried other paper clays but this is the consistency I prefer.

  • Only positive
Cons
  • There are nuances

It was very cracked and not smooth as I expected

This clay dried so quickly while I was working on it. I had water next to me to try to add and keep moist but it didn't work. It was badly cracked and wasn't as smooth as I expected. Then, as the clay dried, it buckled and deformed. I formed something that was supposed to lay flat on the table, but once it dried it flexed and didn't lay flat anymore. It was ok for small things, but I wouldn't recommend it for important or big things.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Lack of repairability

A dream to work with.

.and gives excellent results. The other clay paper I've used are either easy to work with but leave a rough surface no matter what you try, or difficult to work with but at least have a good finish. It's the best of both worlds. It dries quicker than I expected, but a damp paper towel and a fine mist spray solves that problem. It is well layered, easy to straighten, dries quickly, sands well and is a beautiful colour. This is ideal for beginners and advanced sculptors alike.

This material is so fun and easy to use, it has shapes and freeforms

I love this tone. It's easy to use and dries without shrinking or warping. It's also lightweight and feels durable. I dropped my little buddha on the floor and it didn't break. I also made small flowers for my "fake" rock cactus and used them in the mold for the Buddha figurine. Takes color well and does not distort color. The Buddha took over a week to dry, but it's thick. The flowers dried up overnight.

The best tone for unique looks

I repair furniture for a living and love creating unique, one-of-a-kind designs. I also enjoy creating/repairing furnishings. I use this tone quite often with molds from Redesign With Prima Decor. When drying, the clay cracks a little, but does not shrink, which is very important when creating overlapping patterns. I love cracking as many of the pieces I own have a French country/shabby vibe that adds character and age to the design. But if you don't like cracks, just add some clay into the…

Lightweight, easy to shape, shrinks when dry

Unlike others who reviewed this clay, it was good and met expectations. It's easy to mold and it was easy to put small pieces into the mold while doing so. I used it to fill a plaster fruit that fell and broke into 5 smaller pieces. I was hoping that this product would add extra strength to the glued result. In general I am satisfied, although the sound has shrunk a little. I'm guessing the shrinkage was about 2 or 3 percent. (That is, for a mold 10 inches long, the result will be reduced by…

Fun Clay and Recreation Help

This is a smooth paper clay that will air dry. You can heat it in the oven to speed up drying, but you also risk cracking. Air drying is always best. True, the cracks can be filled with a large amount of clay and sanded with fine sandpaper. It's lightweight so you can make great Christmas decorations out of it, and it won't break the branch! Seal the clay in an airtight bag. If the wrap dries out, use only distilled water to restore it. Never use tap water, the minerals it contains will cause…

This is a great product that she often uses in her work.

I bought this item for my daughter who is an art student at UCF. This is a great product that she often uses in her art classes. It is an air-hardening modeling material or clay for artists and crafters. What you do is mold or mold the clay and let it dry. No baking in the oven or roasting in the oven. It will solidify on its own. My daughter uses her sculpting and sculpting tools to create the shapes she is looking for. It hardens well and leaves no dirt everywhere. It is easy to grind and…
