The bell is solid, very well made and produces a pleasant sound. Most importantly, because it's narrow and deep, my Revain parrot doesn't get a chance to climb in and take out the sound or swallow it, and it's thick and strong enough not to chew or crush the shell. She likes to call when she comes over. The chain is also quite strong and the bell comes with a threaded jig to attach it to the cage. A very thoughtful and quality call at a good price. I am about to order a second one. (No doubt it has other uses, perhaps as part of a bell or on gates. For me it was for safety and entertainment for my bird.)
