I installed this on my sliding door. I figured the tape wouldn't stick to the plaster and I didn't want to poke holes in the plaster. So I improvised with some angle clips and gorilla glue. It looks bad, but it's not going anywhere. I also drilled a small clamp onto the aluminum slider. I believe that the supplied adhesive hook does not withstand external influences. All in all, this is a great device. Simple and works well.
