Review on D Link DIR 813 AC750 Wi Fi Router by Brett Robinson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

This router works well for basic network needs, that's all.

Couldn't be better for the price. I was torn between this and the TP-Link router. I chose D-Link because they own my current Wi-Fi camera and have also dealt with their customer service and products in the past. Set up was easy and I just replaced my slower Apple Airport N router. This router still works great and at this price point for the AC750 it couldn't be better. Update: After a few months of use, the router is getting a bit weak. It and my D-Link DAP-1520 require many reboots to stay connected. I have two D-Link network cameras, one connected directly to the router and the other to an extension cable. Both often shut down and require a reboot. The bottom line is that the router gets the job done, and for the price, it's a great option. Too bad it doesn't have cloud or app support so it can be managed or configured from there. I ended up buying a TP-Link router and extender to see if that would meet my needs. Update 2: After installing a TP-Link router, the speed drops by 115 Mbps (I pay for 101). With D-Link I only had 80-90. Also, my D-Link Wi-Fi cameras were always intermittent and I had to lower their resolution in order for them to work properly. This is not necessary with my new router. In fact, my new TP-Link 5GHz router's network goes all the way up, so I no longer need an extender. The 5GHz of this D-Link router couldn't reach the top floor at all. In the end I regret buying this router. I can handle the basics for the price but can't handle a large household with Wi-Fi connection and lack of range.
