If you subscribe to Frontier Communications DSL service, be careful! Frontier's policy prohibits you from using your own gear, so the monthly rental for their gear stays on your bill. whether you use them or your own hardware. I call it "robbery, exploitation or whatever you want to call it (to use Mr. Trump's words)". Again, they found a way to get your wallet. There are no rules or laws regarding this.** However, the D-Link modem is working properly. ** This complicates the return! Before purchasing this modem I called Frontier as I have my own router with built in WiFi and wanted to use it. Frontier offers a modem with built-in WiFi (Netgear) and charges you a hefty fee. Rent. When I asked if I could use my own modem to save on rent I was told I could use any modem with an RJ11 (phone jack). What they conveniently forgot to say is that they still charge rent. I found that out when I asked about the return of their gear. In other words, there is no point in buying a replacement DSL modem, the fee stays on your account. I'm writing this to let other Frontier subscribers know about this shady Frontier Communications business! I have complained to our Senate about the foreclosure and others in this trap should do the same. What happened to freedom of choice?
