This is the perfect washable chalk. Erased by intentional movement but withstands occasional scratches that are part of the measurement and processing process. What's really cool is that when setting up the line, attention is paid to the chalk that rains out of the box at work. After the line breaks, these spatters can be blown away, but the line stays clean. In most cases I don't even have to scrape it off as it disappears like shavings when notched. This shade of purple is the most interesting; on white panels in bright sun it stands out with a dark stripe; in a poorly lit basement workshop it appears to glow along the material. This is a real gem in my CE Tools SnapBack box.
