Review on Denon DCM 27 Changer Discontinued Manufacturer by Christy Ghosh

Bad user interface

This player does not provide a good user interface for anything other than simple sequential playback. Seconds to select the next track while the player keeps rattling and screeching. It's faster when only one disk is loaded, but it's a CHANGE. The manual points to a random disk serial mode, but I'm not smart enough to get it working. Setting random mode doesn't just set the mode; it stops the current track and starts a new one. No display of MP3/CD text track information. Accelerated search appears to be limited to around 2x real-time zoom. The buttons on the remote are tricky to use -- it's hard to tell when you've pressed a button far enough for it to register, and it's difficult to press the right button without pressing others. I have to use the thumbnail nail to click the buttons. You must use the +10 button to select tracks above 9. This is a problem with 200-track MP3 discs; Why can't it allow inputting the track number directly on the remote control? Pros: You can hot-swap drives while the current one is playing. A -> B repeat mode. The sound quality is good.
