Review on REED Instruments R5010 Waterproof Multimeter by Macaiah Arreola

Nice but very annoying

I used one like that at work and decided not to use it, but an older but nicer manual counter. It's a good gauge, but two things about it drove me crazy. First, there are tiny displays on the LCD. While troubleshooting, I got what appeared to be strange readings. It turned out to have switched to mV mode, but the reading on the LCD isn't obvious at all, especially since I'm holding the meter at a distance with my work ahead of me. These indicators are really very small. Another annoyance is that @#$% is automatically turned off, which keeps turning on and off during use. You would think that every read change would reset the auto-disable, but that's not what it's designed for. A month later I didn't even want him on my bench. That's very bad because it's a pretty good gauge. In practice, however, this reduces performance.
