Review on 🌲 20 Pieces of Unfinished Natural Wood Slices: Ideal for Crafts, Christmas Ornaments, and DIY Projects - 3.5-4 inch Craft Wood Kit with Bark by Angela Rodriguez

Those are nice pieces of wood, though.

They tend to "crack". This is the fourth pack of these wood blocks that I have purchased. I love smooth surfaces. They're not too thick and a lot more sophisticated than the standard woodcuts I've found at hobby and craft stores. They don't need to be sanded as the surface is beautiful. The skin is beautiful too. It's very soft and tends to break, but that's exactly where its charm lies. I decoupage on these blocks of wood so I use a few sealers on each piece, Mod Podge, Triple Thick and 2K Resin. At first I thought maybe the pressure of all that sealant would cause it to "pop" and then break. But then I realized that as soon as I unwrapped them and exposed them to air, they continued to crackle randomly even before I did anything to them. I live in an arid and arid high desert climate so maybe that plays a role. I do not know. The two-part resin seems to stop cracking once it dries, but I'm just warning the user to keep a close eye on them. I do not draw original drawings for these works, but if I did it would be a real shame if they ripped in the middle of the finished work. That's why I can only give them 3 stars. Like I said, they're beautiful, but I think they might need to be a little thicker to withstand the rigors of seals and mixed media designs. Oh, also be careful when putting any screws/bolts in there. also because instant cracks can also occur. The screw eyelets I used were 15mm and that was problematic. UPDATE: I lost 9 out of 20 to tears. I took them out of the box and left them in my studio for 3 days and by the end of that time 9 of them were broken and I don't need them anymore.
