Review on πŸ—‘οΈ simplehuman 45L/12 Gal Rectangular Hands-Free Trash Can - Soft-Close Lid, Stainless Steel & Plastic by Julian Banks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My favorite trash can.

This is my second set of these glasses. I keep two at a time, one to recycle/the other to trash, and I always get compliments on it. My first set didn't have a plastic lid but did have a rose gold plating that wore off from brushing and banging for about 5 years. This plastic lid version is cheaper in my opinion and better due to improper handling of the lids. That. Never bothered me. They use standard 13 gallon bags. Costco was a perfect fit. HOWEVER, the bags SimpleHuman sells are some of the insanely strong/tear resistant. I keep some on hand when warranted. I love that I can open the bottom of the lid (which hides and secures the pouches) and it stays open while cooking etc. This bag closure system is much better. than any glasses with a plastic insert to play around with. The only other discovery associated with these cans is the tab on the back for the hinges/handles/pocket which protrudes clearly and I found it rubbed against the wall as the cans were pushed. returned from use. It left scars. I solved this problem with a 2x4 length behind the base that places it perfectly and doesn't stand out. I could see how annoying this can be for some, but it's also a good holding slot for flattened cardboard before I have time to take it out. My first set would have taken forever if I hadn't knocked one over and broken off a piece. hinge mechanism. All my fault. But at the time I realized they have a 10 year guarantee and I forgot to register them so be sure to do so but I was happy to invest in a replacement and the leftover good ones somewhere in mine to use house. I love these trash cans and will preach about them to anyone who wants to talk about trash cans. buy you!
