Review on Sockwell Flattery Moderate Graduated Compression by Simo Whisperer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Comfortable without straps but short lived

I really like these socks, I ordered them in several colors and I have a pair for every day of the week so I wash once a week. They are comfortable, don't dig in and leave a red mark on the ankle even after 12 hours of wear. Other brands leave behind painful ankle creases in as little as 4 hours. While these socks swell excellently when new, after 3 months they lose too much compression capacity to prevent top foot and ankle swelling and need to be replaced. I have lymphedema and wide calves. The actual appearance and integrity of the sock as a sock is still good after 3 months, but the elasticity is no longer strong enough to control swelling. I hate throwing away perfect socks so as soon as they lose their compressibility I donate them to a charity that gives them to people who need regular socks and buys new ones myself. Day of the week (washing once a week) = 7 pairs in 3 months = 28 pairs per year. It's very expensive for socks. Compression stockings are unfortunately not covered by my insurance, even in the case of a medically diagnosed illness. I would like Sockwell to offer a rewards/loyalty discount. Buy 6 and get one free would be nice.
