Review on Bosch DSB5013P Daredevil Spade - 13 Piece Set for Ultimate Drilling Efficiency by Troy Hamilton

I found this Bosch 13 piece spade bit set to be very complete with a good selection of all the sizes I have on will use most often. Bosch sent me a few samples of these Daredevil nozzles a while back and I never got around to trying them until recently using them to drill holes for rough wiring in a Resi kitchen remodel. I was very impressed with how quickly they made holes in 2X. Once the hole is started they are mostly self loading, but I have found that the aggressive action of these bits creates a lot more vibration than the standard speed bore spade bits and requires a straight line approach to the board at a relatively high level Having drill speed to be able to control and operate it with one hand in my 18 volt cordless drill or impact driver, especially with larger bits. I have used these bits with 6" and 12" Irwin Lock N' Load quick release extensions which I have found to be much quicker and easier to work with than regular set screw extensions. I definitely wouldn't use these Daredevil bits for an open finish as they tend to create too much overshoot and splintering as the bit penetrates the back of the board, but they are great for rough, hidden work and I will use them often use for this type of work. Overall I think these drill bits are excellent and would recommend them for both quick and coarse drilling in wood.
