Decent, but there are others with more features for the same price.

I am using this dock with USB-C universal power adapter. https://www.amazon.com/Charger-Adapter-Latitude-MacBook-Charging/dp/B0813TDBPTI I've been using the docking station for 4 weeks now and haven't had any problems. I leave it on and my Lenovo T480 on 24/7. It works a little on the warm side, but nothing special. I have not encountered the device shutting down due to overheating. When using the above power supply, I get noticeable static noise with inexpensive speakers connected through the dock's 3.5mm audio jack. When using a Lenovo OEM power adapter on the docking station, the noise is about half as loud. Actually, I think it might be a function of the cost of the docking station, the cost of the charger, and the cheap speakers. It could also be because the audio jack is directly between the USB-C power input and the laptop's USB-C power/data port. However, after looking at other Universal Docks on Amazon, I noticed that there are others. with 12 or 13-in-1 capabilities that include an additional USB-C port and/or a third monitor output (typically 2-HDMI and 1-VGA). Some of them also have more USB 3.0 ports. It is clear that most of these small docks are practically identical or are variants of the same dock with slightly different characteristics, as mentioned above. All of them can be produced and renamed by the same manufacturer.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • AC outlet required
