Does not work with dyes but is suitable for thicker liquids.
I bought this to paint the edges of the scabbard. Liquid dyes, such as water-based and alcohol-based leather dyes, are not viscous enough to use. The knurling just doesn't hold the color and is completely ineffective. I've found them to work with thicker liquids like polish or glue, but they don't do what they're advertised to do.
