God it went downhill! I don't know where CMT gets their carbide for the cutting blade, but it's not American made carbide! The cutting blades are soft as butter. I am a licensed home builder/renovator and have owned and operated a furniture business for many years. These bits used to be great, but in the last 2 months I've bought 2 of these bevel bits and didn't even use them until a few lines appeared on the edge of my countertop. Yes, I also ride them at less than the recommended speed and do multiple passes to avoid edge breaks. The material used in these photos is Standard Menards White Maple, it's not even Rockhard White Maple! I would say it's not worth buying as you're just wasting your money. My cheap old Rockler bits took at least 6-8 surgeries before I saw any sign of a line or groove in the wood or bit. In the attached photos you can see the lines left in the wood and you can see the shavings that have been removed from the carbide in the drill bit.
