My son received an Arctis 9x as a gift. The box has a serial number and a date of manufacture. The guarantee is one year. The headset can be switched on at the earliest 6 months after receipt. I contacted Steelseries and they helped me reset my headset. It didn't solve my problem so they said I had to make a warranty claim. We don't have a receipt as it is a gift. They list a serial number on the box and a date of manufacture less than 12 months old, which is insufficient to establish a warranty claim. We are unable to contact the donor due to an untimely death. They did not understand our situation and therefore I would not recommend their product.
