This is a reliable leash for small dogs but not for young strong breeds weighing 80 pounds or more. I ordered it with 5 others. I rescue dogs of all sizes, ages and breeds, plus I have 8 of my own. 6 of them are under 2 years old and very strong dogs that are still working on their manners when a squirrel or cat walks by. That cord in this leash is quite strong, but it's not sewn together like the Remington. If your dog is well behaved this is a great leash for any size dog but I don't trust it completely for fear that it will eventually break the handle or slip off the knot with a sharp tug. Many of the dogs I rescue have been through some bad things and sometimes when I get them they are very aggressive and I need to be able to trust my leash 100% for the safety of my other pets and the people I work with , to guarantee.
