I needed to cut a 1-1/4 PVC pipe. The pipe was very thick and I needed to make sure the cutter would adequately cut a pipe of that size. It definitely was big enough for the job. Two things that I noticed: 1) it gives your hand and forearm a bit of a workout, and 2) as it gets near the end of the cut, you have to hold the pipe (or have someone else hold it) to avoid the pipe starting to fall at an angle. On my first cut, it was about 85% straight but the last little bit was at an angle. Fortunately, I could afford to have it not completely flush. On my 2nd pipe, I tried to be more conscious of this and held the long end of the pipe being cut so that it wasn't as noticeable of an angle.
