Easy to install you almost don't need sealant glue the only reason I see is just to make sure that if there is some adhesion to the trunk lid the new one Decorative strip does not peel off. The old protective film peeled off easily but left a small residue. The metal edge that the scraper presses on was quite dirty and I used 100% isopropyl alcohol to remove the dirt and soften the residue. Most of the effort went into preparing the surface, I didn't completely peel off the old glue but did a good job of making sure the new glue held the strip in place. cut until complete removal. Since the new trim is a strip (and couldn't be fitted in one piece without removing the trunk lid), I placed the seam at the back of the car (the bottom edge of the trunk). I don't think water will seep in through the crack, but I can try using sealing tape glue to seal the seam before the rain comes. If you try this, remember to put something like a small piece of plastic wrap over the seam you just joined so the trunk lid doesn't stick to the lid if it's closed before it's fully cured. This is the only reason for 4 stars, it's not a blow to the product but the nature of using a one piece product to replace an OEM. The truck's lid was struggling to close for the first week, until a new sweeper showed up.
