Review on Nikon NIKKOR Fixed Focus Cameras by Ojasvi Sharma (Ojo) ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I am satisfied with everything, both price and quality, I advise you to buy.

I have been using this glass for 2 years paired with d600. Light - yes. It can shoot at open up to f / 1.8, but soap can hardly be avoided. Out of 5 shots on such a hole, 3-4 are in marriage. I believe that the working one starts at f / 2.2. But to be sure, I press it to f/2.5. Due to the good plastic body, the lens turned out to be very light. How to anyone, but for me it's rather +. The built-in motor drives AF fast enough. But this is subjective. I read that many are not satisfied with the focusing speed. AF is not accurate enough for full-length portraits. Maybe my copy needs adjustment, but in Minsk it's hard. Compared to its predecessor from the d-series, this lens has more contrast and sharpness. When buying this glass, be prepared for the fruitful XA of all colors. This especially complicates the work when processing wedding photos (especially full-length ones), when, along with the suppression of XA, purple colors disappear in the bride's bouquet and groom's boutonniere at the same time)). The bokeh is pretty, not cheap. The contrast is good, but be careful with the backlight - it doesn't like horror. My Tamron 24-75 works much better in this regard. I advise you not to use the hood unnecessarily. You can check the result yourself later)))) All successful shots and creative success!

Pros
  • Light, light, fast.
Cons
  • Terrible aberrations, in the back is weak.
