Used this to repair a friend's Sand Viper e-bike after it fell off the trailer. The controller schematic seems accurate, but don't connect the smart wire to anything as it will cause the motor to behave strangely. I assume it must be for calibration, but it caused the motor to turn without the wheel turning. There was a short in the meter connector so I spliced the cable myself but it took me a while to figure it out. I also had to solder the motor housing wires. The knobs/brake levers appear to be of decent quality and very well replace those that have been ruined for the price. Took the electrician and me about 8 hours of work but set it up Friday night and Saturday morning. You'll have to google all the nuances of Chinese controllers, but they're all pretty much the same once you get the hang of it. We couldn't find a nut on the pedal hub for the assist pedal, reused the old bracket but quickly found the assist pedal was 100% back even though the arrows were correct. It's easy to fix, but the trend is ubiquitous - lots of feelings in the dark trying to get a rat's nest of wires to talk to itself. However, we liked the size of the new controller, it was half the size of the old one (the bike was made in 2016) and we had enough room for cables.
