Review on ACDelco 334 1448 Professional Alternator Remanufactured by Jhon Clark

This alternator is a perfect match for the original alternator in my 2003 Honda Pilot. If you buy this from Amazon you will get a core discount from acdelcocorerefund. (I have confirmed they are legal at ACDelco.) I simply provided my Amazon order number on the website and they sent me a prepaid FedEx shipping label. After I sent the core back, I received a check for $49 in about 3-4 weeks. I'm a bit concerned about the quality due to issues with some of the external plastic parts. When it arrived, a piece of plastic insulation was broken around one of the electrical connectors that the boot slides over. It's okay, I thought, I'll just use it. Then when I checked the size of the bushing on the stud on the outside of the car, just pulling the bushing out and barely touching it broke off another piece. The plastic seems very brittle. In this case, you can reuse the old generator's generator. After installation the battery indicator does not light up and when idling it produces 14.19V. After installation it was a bit noisy but then quieted down - maybe the brushes needed a break-in. Otherwise so far so good and I'll update this review if there are any other issues. Installing this in the 1st generation Pilot allows you to remove the coolant expansion tank and remove the power steering tank from its bracket and out of the way before starting the engine. This helps make room for the entrance and exit in the top left corner. See Honda Pilot Alternator Replacement in instructions. The label says it was refurbished in China but with the core discount it's a great price and after a month it's still working great!
