I have two other Keiid devices, an all in one stereo and a standalone receiver that are also based on the VW head unit. The one in this bookcase model isn't exactly the same, but is a little more intuitive to set up. And the remote control is better than other models. In general, the build quality is very similar, as is the sound quality. I probably like the bass response better in the other cabinets, but these sound better, which is good for a bookshelf system and not that heavy. Everything works well and feels solid. Like other devices, the AM receiver is not compatible with US frequencies. And since the head is designed for use in a vehicle with ACC on and the ignition on, you can use the radio with just the power button on the front and use the remote control to use all other functions. turn on. It comes with everything you need to use it (except AAA batteries for the remote) and is well packaged. I'm curious to see how it drives some of the other speakers - maybe try later.
