The tray arrived smaller than I thought the Extra Large would be. Hardly fit two large chicken breasts at once. Do yourself a favor and measure/tape the dimensions of this item, it's barely larger than a dinner plate. The tray also claims to defrost "significantly faster" than simply leaving the meat on the counter. It might be a little quicker, but it won't save your bacon if you get home after work and forget to thaw the meat in the fridge overnight. I tested this tray last Sunday by placing one chicken breast on the "defrosting tray" and one chicken breast on a plate in the kitchen next to it, I measured the core temperature of both at the end of almost three hours. They were within 0.5 degrees of each other. This isn't particularly surprising since melting ice cream tends to stay at 32°F/0°C, but the chicken didn't feel significantly less frozen between the chicken on the tray and the chicken on the plate either. It took another two hours for both chicken breasts to transform from solid chunks of ice to cookable chunks of meat. . If you eat something in the next few hours, you still need to use tap water or a microwave to speed up defrosting.
