This SB6 183 surfboard has had no problems in the whole time I've owned it (several months). We use it with MAC OS X, Android and anything Roku uses. We constantly get the nominal speed of our tariff (30 Mbit/s down and 5 Mbit/s down) from the cable provider. From time to time we exceed the speed we pay for (when the cable company makes mistakes) and this modem happily does so. All channels are connected at all times, so it's good to maintain speed. In fact, this modem maintains speed in the evening (when the "Netfilx effectβ is slowing down our cable) better than a modem rented from an ISP. We can still get 30Mbps.) I never tested the speed and the speed was below what we pay for. (Good results for Wowway and Arris) We can surf the intranet while both our TVs play educational documentaries on PBS. (Well - girls and monster movies) This modem doesn't even break a sweat - not even in the evenings. Technical support is excellent. When I first received it, it wasn't registered on the Arris warranty registration page. Apparently it was already registered on someone else and they must have returned it. My tech support call was answered by a real English speaking person in 1 minute. The technician fixed the issue in less than 2 minutes and offered to stay on the phone while I plugged it in if I ran into any issues. cool, yes? Funny guy too. Connecting was easy. All I had to do was call the ISP and they did the rest. They could see it was registered on someone else and Arris fixed it. After I contacted the person at the ISP (20 minutes), it took about 3 minutes to prepare. Easy! Provider is Wide Open West (also called "Wow" or "Wowway"). I have a problem setting up the power saving feature. The manual procedure did not match what was said on screen. Wrote to tech support. About an hour later I got a reply. To install this feature, you must disable it with the provider. Management skipped this part. Oh well! Later I wanted to restart it for a test if the power ever went out. It did not restart after the manual procedure. I called tech support. A minute later a man answered the phone. He said to unplug it from the ISP cable to restart it. (Again - excellent technical support. Management is bad though). Please note that during power outages it reconnects to the ISP without my intervention. I suspect you only need to unplug your ISP cable when doing a soft reset. The actual device works cool. Actually very cool. This is probably due to two reasons: the ventilation scheme and the fact that the power supply is not inside the device. This is good and helps the circulatory system to cool down. Because the power supply is a (small) brick and the brick is outside, it runs even cooler. (And it can be replaced with a generic one if needed.) It works fine with my TP-Link Archer C7-AC 1750 router. There are no family feuds between them. Testimonial: Performance = A+Reliability = A+Ease of Connection = B (only because of registration problem) Temperature = A+Compatibility = A+Phone Support = A+Email Support = A + User Guide = It's a summer school for those writers. If this ever needs replacing I will personally buy Arris again. And I will buy it from Revain. Why Revain? They saved me when the first one I bought (from a private seller on Revain) turned out to be used and according to Arris possibly fake. (So much for getting cheaper and not buying from Revain.) Well, I highly recommend this unit. If it ever breaks and Arris can't help, I'll update this review.
