CONFIRMED: DOES NOT support Auto Up/Down on EX/EXL/EXL-T. RESET RESET/PROGRAMMING.

TLDR: Dorman 741-007 is NOT compatible with Auto Up/Down on EX/EXL/EXL-T. RESET RESET / PROGRAMMING. I don't normally leave reviews, but after a long and costly process of replacing parts and troubleshooting, I feel I should clear up the confusion surrounding this issue. I have a 2005 Odyssey EXL-T (Touring). Honda Factory Front Window Adjuster (72250-SHJ-A02) HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED BY Honda. Revain says this part (Dorman 741-007) is compatible with my EXL-T. The Revain listing itself in the Specifications section clearly states the OEM part number: 72250SHJA02. That's why I bought Dorman. I installed the part and verified that the basic up/down functions work properly. I know I need to perform the auto power window reset if battery power is lost or the master switch or controller is replaced. I followed the reset procedure outlined in the manual but auto/up/down didn't work. I've tried several times. I've tried different variations of the reset process online and on YouTube. Nothing helped to restore auto up / down. My conclusion: I must have damaged the delicate electronics in the master window switch, possibly when installing the Dorman.*** Important master switch info: Part EX/EXL/EXL-T (35750-SHJ-306) is COMPLETELY different from the part for LX -trim. The EX/EXL/EXL-T version has additional electronics for fancy functions (which I personally tested while disassembling). Part 35750-SHJ-306 is $191 new (hondapartsnow.com). I decided to buy the same factory Honda part that was used on ebay for about half the price of a new one. When it arrived I verified the correct part and set the switch. WITHOUT CHANGE. Auto up/down still not resetting/working. Obviously I bought a bad used master switch that someone else blew up, right? So at this point I have about $150 and I felt like I had no choice but to buy a new Honda factory shifter. After about $200 it arrived, I installed it. Guess what? WITHOUT CHANGE. Right now I'm about $350 poorer, confused for a few weeks and looking at a Dorman ESC. Eventually I found out that auto up/down works by detecting the current change when the window is raised or lowered. If the Dorman motor is sufficiently different from the Honda works part, that could explain why the auto up and down movement might not work. Now I have a mission to find out! As I mentioned above the factory Honda ESC has been discontinued but I was able to find a used Honda ESC on ebay for around $50. It arrived and I removed the Dorman, installed a used Honda part and went through the reset procedure. AUTO UP/DOWN WORKS INSTANTLY. The whole time the problem was the Dorman controls! Note: I have reason to believe that this control *might* support Auto/Up down on the Odyssey LX model, but that part isn't listed so I won't. take care of it. Conclusion: Dorman 741-007 does not support auto ramp up/down with Odyssey EXL-T (and 99% likely EX/EXL too) due to differences in motor current draw. I highly recommend using a genuine Honda part instead if you want to retain this functionality. Also note the different versions of the main window switches (and versions from other manufacturers). Stick with the original Honda even if you have to buy a used one and you'll be fine. To be fair, I might consider Dorman again, but only for the other three windows as they don't have an auto raise/lower feature. Dorman is back and two fully functional and proven Master Window Switches are coming to ebay soon. I really hope this helps someone. Dorman, please test your items before claiming 100% compatibility. If you don't support auto enlargement/reduction on EX/EXL/EXL-T, please report it.
