I was hoping that these would work well with chalk paint. I started a table top project and for some reason my paint was literally discoloring, very strange. I literally kept putting coats of paint on and they all kept drying with these strange dark patches. I thought it was the paint at first, but decided to change out brushe, when I did, the paint went on smooth with absolutely no dark streaks or patches. The "other" brush literally saved my project. Therefore I can't recommend these for paint. They may work fine on wax, I have not tried it yet. *Side note - I used two coats of primer on the table before I started, so the dark patches were not coming from table itself.
