There are pros and cons

So I looked through all the reviews and it seemed to me the best. I didn't want to spend time on other trackers and subscriptions to see if they are just as good and cheaper. So far the cheapest seems to be to subscribe to this. My only concerns are accuracy, durability, size, and battery life. Accuracy - the first day we received it, it worked flawlessly until the evening. In the evening he showed that my cat was suddenly 20 miles away from me. I didn't check every 5 minutes. I checked probably 1 or 2 times an hour. We thought someone picked him up and brought him home. We wanted to frantically get in the car, track him down and take him home. Just as we were about to pull out of the driveway, we saw him on the side of the house NOT 20 miles away according to the tracker. So far there has been no such incident. But it's just crazy since it showed him a distance of 20 miles. I would understand if he showed him on one side of the house when he was on the other side but 20 miles away? Oh well. The real-time tracking isn't the best either. This shows that he has been in the same place for more than 5 minutes. When I stop live tracking, close the app, reopen the app and restart live tracking, it suddenly shows 5 houses. It's really annoying when I'm trying to find it to make sure it's ok because it shows it's stuck in one place for a while, or when I'm trying to find it to make sure it's water , food and other things. Longevity - when we discovered our cat was literally 10 feet away from us instead of 20 miles away. We frantically went to check on him to make sure he was okay. The tracker already had scratches and dents. Remember, this was the first day. I would understand wear and tear after a while. NOT on the first day. Battery Life - Battery life sucks. They say they have a new feature when it goes into sleep mode or something like that when the cat is near the house. My cat has to be inside for this. It can be around the house ie on the steps, on the back porch etc (not 50ft from the house but next to the house) and it will not go into sleep mode. It's a small house so a modem that I know for sure can reach a mailbox at the end of the driveway and even Wi-Fi in a small wooded area behind the house over 100 feet away. . I have to charge the tracker every 3-4 days. I don't check the tracker but maybe once an hour and most of the time I can't even do it because I'm busy with work. It really shouldn't use that much battery. Size - This thing is pretty big for a cat. I checked the sizes of the cat and dog trackers and they are the same. I got the dog tracker because 1) it's the same size and does the same thing and 2) they were out of stock with the cat tracker. My cat is an adult and weighs over 12 pounds. I know it's not the most comfortable thing about him and I hate forcing him to wear it, but it's for his safety. He's basically an outdoor cat, so he has to carry one almost all the time. I would like to reduce it in length and width. Many trackers I saw on Amazon were much smaller. I'm not sure what the legitimate reason is for him being so fat and tall.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Everything is good
