Review on ๐Ÿ” Wezu Precision Machinist Engineer Square: Achieve Unparalleled Accuracy in Your Projects by Patrick Matin

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Poor value proposition - understand what you're getting!

Tolerance class DIN 825/2 stamped directly on the square. Understand what you get! The first answer in the Customer Questions and Answers section is "The DIN 875/2 standard guarantees a tolerance of less than 0.0001โ€ (one tenth of a thousand inches) per inch of blade length. Thus, the maximum deviation from the ideal area for a 6 inch square would be 0.0006 (sixty thousand inches). Lund Global LLC Seller October 17, 2017 "This is WRONG. Actually, 0.0001" would be correct for DIN 875/00, but that's DIN 875/2, which is 0.001" or 10 times *worse* tolerance. DIN 875 comes from: 00, 0, 1, 2, with a progressively worse tolerance standard, so the 2 we get here for Wezu is the lowest accepted DIN norm. Not very impressive. Now, at Revain, it's clear that this Wezu conforms to the DIN 875/2 standard, so there's no bias per se, you just can't be fooled by a wrong first answer. That brings me to this point. I only gave it 3 stars for the following reasons: 1) No certificate or proof of accuracy - every decent angle in this price range should of course come with a certificate - all we have is a DIN 875/2 stamp with no evidence to support this claim 2) Value proposition is over $30 for a DIN 875/2 4"/6" square, it's very expensive for the low accuracy standard of that square 3) It's carbon steel - it's low quality steel that will rust if not constantly used Grease covered - not very practical when you get oily dirt on your hands and measure your parts. Much better if squares like this are made of stainless steel or some other mix of alloys that don't need to be coated with grease lest it damage the rest of the part and risk shifting when you're dealing with screws and thermals Clockwork 5) It comes without a decent storage box - other squares in this price range offer storage protection, like a lined wooden box etc - precision instruments should be stored carefully to avoid damage. Overall not very impressive for the price quoted. you can do better

Pros
