Good device, but there are a few problems.

This is a good touchscreen ODBII scanner that runs on Android. The touch screen responds. It was easy for me to figure it out without using the guide. I've used ODB scanners in the past that were overly complex and poorly designed for what they offered. What I liked: Allows you to create PDF reports of your vehicle's current position and transfer that report to another device/computer via Bluetooth. The transfer was quick and easy. Updates are downloaded directly from the device (after it is connected to Wi-Fi) without the need to connect it to a computer. What I definitely did NOT like: after updating some device features, I was hit by a toll wall. Each advanced feature in the maintenance menu required one payment per feature, allowing access for 1 year. Features like brake reset, TPMS reset, oil reset, etc. I'm not talking a few bucks, I mean $29.95 for one, $49.95 for another, etc. Just to use it for just one year. So why 3 stars and not 1 star? I am tester and master with computers and electronics. So I explored the Android options available and found the RESET option. After restarting the device, which took a few minutes, I was able to start over, and this time I wasn't charged for any additional features through the app updates. Interesting. Why did it work the way it worked? I can only guess. In the product description (at the time of writing) the seller promises a free lifetime reset option for these advanced features below: It was an accident, or maybe this device will charge a fee to update these applications in the future. I just do not know. In any case, I rate it 3 stars due to the problems caused by the original software that was ready on this device. The device should always be operational and not waste time. I think the current price (at the time of the review) is too high. I would pay closer to the $100 mark for something with these issues. Also, the advanced reset functions didn't work on my car. I have a 2010 Toyota. I have another code scanner that works great and costs me less than this one currently advertised. 3 stars because it works now but not as it should on my car.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as the other options
