To punch the hole, I applied pressure, rotated the material about 15 degrees, and punched again. Three hits did it. Only one pressing operation was required when pressing the eyelets. I installed 60 half inch grommets with no problems. The delivery was faster than expected - two days instead of six. I've tried a hand cutter and dies in the past that required a total of 100 hammer blows on each bushing. The eyelet press was worth my money. My sewing teacher looked at mine, bought it and was happy too.
