Review on 🌐 Etrak ETC100: Enhanced GPS Tracking for Optimal Security and Peace of Mind by Jermaine Shuster

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The first impression is not very good.

I ordered Etrak and Ezoom on Revain.com and signed up for service for both devices. When I got Etrak I couldn't activate it. Had to ship it back to Etrak HQ in Texas as activation couldn't be done from Alaska. Etrak came back about a week later and the device is now activated. However, I don't see much tracking with this device. On the tracking website I set it to update every 30 minutes and then I wanted to change it to every 5 minutes. A message is displayed that the changes will take effect within 24 hours. Or press the button on the device to make changes immediately. When the device is placed in a moving vehicle, I cannot press the button. A call to the company revealed that Verizon's coverage in Alaska might not be good enough (although Verizon claims it is). According to the Etrak website, holding the device for a 5-minute locate interval drains the battery very quickly and is only recommended in an emergency. This creates a problem. Let's say I want to track a family member. I set it to a 30 minute interval to save battery. A family member has disappeared. Now I want to track every 5 minutes to quickly find out where a family member is. I go online, make changes and they tell me the changes will be in 24 hours. On the other hand, eZoom tracks great while we're talking and I can ask for its location right away and wait a minute or two. If I put it in constant tracking mode, I get updates about every 30 seconds. You may have a better experience with Etrak and if so then I hope you post a review so others can benefit from a different opinion.
