The quality of the components provided seems to be pretty good, this is a solid Pi4 starter kit. The documentation says how to connect the fan, but if you haven't used the output pins on the Pi yet it may not be clear which pins it should be connected to exactly (you can see it in one of the images provided). If you can't figure it out by searching Google, you can leave the fan disabled for now and run the "pinout" command that comes with the Raspbian OS. it shows a nice little pin-out diagram. (Update: On my third look, I found a small fan schematic in one of the included documentation cards, but a larger or more visual one would be helpful.)
