Super handy for punching heavy bags without being too bulky. Your fingers and thumbs are so well padded compared to my old gloves. In my old gloves my fingers felt smashed and sometimes my thumb felt tight as I punched. I have small hands and the regular fits perfectly with little room inside to move. The elastic wrist strap works well to really tighten the wrist for excellent wrist support. UPDATE: I've been using them regularly about 2-3 times for the past 2.5 years. a week on a heavy bag. they hold up well. Only the paint has worn off in a few places and the elastic is a bit frayed from the accidentally attached velcro, but it works and stretches as before. Firmware is still good. I haven't used any higher quality gloves to compare but after all this time and regular use I haven't found anything to complain about and find them to be really good if you're just starting out in boxing. My ankles, wrists and thumb feel like rubber when I hit the bag and I don't feel any pain at all. I'm wondering what the high end gloves are like, but not sure I would miss the protection they gave me.
