I grew up with commercial sewing machines in an upholstery shop and have been sewing since the early 1990s. I've had this car for 3 years now and I can't say I've ever enjoyed it. I've never had a machine that was so finicky about the perfect thread tension and felt so flimsy for a relatively expensive home machine. If you want to build a bird's nest in seconds, this machine is for you. If you really want to sew something heavier than tissue paper, look elsewhere. Anything thicker than a t-shirt requires YOU to feed the material as the machine cannot. The last straw was yesterday when I pulled it from storage to sew a pocket onto an unbuttoned jumpsuit. The computer had a heart attack and threw his head so far that the needle cut his leg. But not before building a bird's nest underneath. Cleaned, refilled, double checked I was on a straight line, turned off the power and plugged back in. Hooray! Another nest and another broken needle. Looked into the "limited" guarantee and surprise! It only covers the head, not the computer. The computer and electronics are only fully covered for 1 year, but you get parts for 5 and you pay for the repairs. Dad always said never buy a computer controlled car, stick to a mechanical one. You were right dad. It's in the trash right now.
