So frustrating. Solution found, maybe

Bought this Singer Sew Mate 5400 sewing machine in 2018. From the first use, the threads began to collect under the fabric. I read it over and over again. I was so upset that I put the sewing machine away. Started using again in 2019. Punch threads (bird's nest) under the fabric. STILL. Read many other reviews and watch many videos for the solution. I FINALLY found a blog post from a quilter with a Janome sewing machine. I thought why not try this on my Singer sewing machine. Her suggestion was

Great budget device!

This is a great budget sewing machine! I wanted to keep my costs under $150 but still get something I could use for everyday projects and this was a hidden gem! Don't buy computer controlled cars. You will regret it at some point.

I grew up with commercial sewing machines in an upholstery shop and have been sewing since the early 1990s. I've had this car for 3 years now and I can't say I've ever enjoyed it. I've never had a machine that was so finicky about the perfect thread tension and felt so flimsy for a relatively expensive home machine.
